Q: How did you first hear of Rachel Jasmine Studio and what made you want to book with us? 

A: As a little girl, I was teased and called names with racial remarks which made me feel emotionally unstable and ugly. I spoke to my husband and told him that I would like to do a photo session in the future hoping to ease the emotional pain that stayed within me all these years in the back of my mind. Little did I know he looked for the best photographer in the area and came up with Rachel Jasmine Studio. I looked into RJS and said, “These are not the photos I was looking to do!” My husband said I should do it and that I would look “gorgeous”. So a month later I scheduled for my session unwillingly.

Q: What was your initial reason for booking? 

A: I have never thought myself as pretty. I looked at other photos of women or women in the movies and always said I wish I was pretty like her. I thought myself as a plain “Jane”. I wish I was photogenic!!

Q: Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they? 

A: I sat in my parked car as instructed and waited for Stefanie to come and greet me. When I saw her, my butt and feet stayed planted in the car not willing to move; however, Stefanie’s smile relaxed the tension within my body and soul. What would the end result of this session be? I truly hoped that this was not a mistake.

Q: What was it like seeing your images for the first time? 

A: OMG!! These photos are not me!! I am not pretty!! I am not beautiful!! I am GORGEOUS!! I have stared at these pictures over and over and not believing what I saw!! This was truly ME!!! I stare at each photo looking to see if I actually saw ME in them.

Q: Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman? 

A: My gallery is stunning!! I have never felt sooo beautiful in my lifetime!! Although I do workout with my husband five days a week with weights, do my abs and play tennis, I never expected to see myself as stunning as the pictures depict me. I still look at each picture to be sure it was an image of myself.
