Q: How did you first hear of Rachel Jasmine Studio and what made you want to book with us?

A: I actually never heard of Rachel Jasmine prior to booking. When I turned 40 I decided it was time to do something for myself, ya know, at least try and feel sexy, so I started web searching for boudoir photographers. When I came across Rachel’s page there was no doubt in my mind I found the photographer I was looking for.

Q: What was your initial reason for booking?

A: I think turning 40 is something special. We go through our whole lives trying to live up to certain standards, years go by and next thing you know you’re getting older. I never took the time to feel good about myself. Turning 40 opened doors and windows to worlds I used to be afraid to open. I wanted the opportunity to step outside of my box. To be someone I always imagined being, if only for a couple of hours. A boudoir photo session seemed like a good place to start.

Q: Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?

A: I don’t think I did. Obviously there’s the excitement of it all, but as far as expectations, not really. Going into the studio that day I’d like to believe I had an open mind, there was a lot of fear and anxiety, but Rachel and her team already had shown their level of professionalism and expertise that i was able to open up, letting my guard down. They made it easy to trust the process.

Q: What was it like seeing your images for the first time?

A: Overwhelming. Hands down, afterward I wish I had words to say to express how unbelievably impressed I was. Some photos made me cry, other photos made me laugh, but overall the images were mind blowing. Beyond what I ever expected.

Q: Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?

A: Yes and no. I’m still processing the photos to be honest. I’ve looked at them countless times and every time I see something else I love about them, about myself. I think we spend most of our lives being super critical of our bodies, what we wear, how we look. Seeing myself in the photos was out of this world. I feel sexier, lighter. I find myself wanting to do my hair and makeup (plain Jane over here) so that in itself is a win. Overall body image? Fear- unlocked. I can say when I’m with my boyfriend I no longer feel the need to hide parts of myself away. When I look in the mirror now, I see a beautiful woman. I think it’s a process to build self love – this was the perfect stepping stone.

Q: Would you recommend Rachel Jasmine Studio for the luxury boudoir experience to others?

A: Absolutely!! Without a doubt!!
