Q: How did you first hear of Rachel Jasmine Studio and what made you want to book with us?
A: I first booked with RJS in 2019, after I heard about the studio through a friend. I was uncomfortable with my body at the time, and I encouraged myself to step outside of my comfort zone. After my shoot, I felt more confident and grateful for my body. The very last photo brought tears to my eyes because it captured how I wanted to feel on the inside about myself. I’m so grateful Rachel captured that moment. Three years later, I wanted to re-book because I actually felt worthy of treating myself.
Q: What was your initial reason for booking?
A: I had not viewed my body as beautiful, constantly comparing myself to others. As a dancer, this has been an ideal that has followed me since I was young. I put on a good face on the outside, but internally I was very self-critical. When I heard my friend’s story, I started to re-think why this shoot would be something I deserve to do for myself. I imagined how it would be to step outside my comfort zone and show my body love and compassion for all that it does for me each day. I’ve always give and give for others, I felt it was time to give to myself.
Q: Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
A: My expectations were more internal. I didn’t think I was going to get myself to pose nude. I thought I was going to look “bad,” “awkward,” “unattractive.” Honey! I never doubted Rachel would guide me gently and in the right direction. She challenged my expectations. I really appreciated Rachel’s take on felinity, beauty, and sexuality. I felt comfortable and unafraid to love myself, and most importantly my body.
Q: What was it like seeing your images for the first time?
A: In 2019, I cried. In 2022, my jaw dropped! I looked fiery, expensive, confident, sexy – I was like “Damn!” I was obsessed with my Bodyscapes photos. They were so artistically captured; the human body is an incredible canvas.
Q: Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
A: I’ve been a dancer since I was three years old and body image was everything. If you didn’t have the look, you weren’t it. I’ve struggled with that well into adulthood. Since I’ve done boudoir, I feel more confident, worthy, sexy, beautiful. I don’t have to compare myself to others anymore. I think boudoir helps draw out what is truly within us as women, and not meet certain expectations. Boudoir has helped me love myself, take better care of myself, be compassionate towards myself, and respect myself. I now know how I look and who I am is good enough, and I don’t need to change that to fit into a box.
Q: Would you recommend Rachel Jasmine Studio for the luxury boudoir experience to others?
A: YES! YES! YES! Ladies, this experience will change how you feel about yourself, how you see yourself, and how you talk to yourself. Rachel and Kasey are professional, amazing, talented women. They create a safe and inviting space; you’ll feel so comfortable. They’ll walk with you through the entire experience.
Q: What advice would you give to another woman considering the boudoir experience with Rachel Jasmine Studio?
A: Ladies, your body can be a safe space. Your body can be trusted. You are capable. You are worthy. You are good enough. Allow this experience to offer a space where you can reflect what self-love feels like and looks like FOR YOU. This experience can be extremely humbling and grounding. Rachel and her team will walk with you through your entire experience, and challenge you in a safe way to bring out your inner beauty.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add to your interview?
A: I send so much light and love to Rachel, Kasey, and the RJS team for offering this art and this space for women from ALL walks of life. I’ve done the boudoir experience twice now, and yes, I feel more sexy and confident in my self-image; but, the experience is also fun! I was genuinely laughing during my shoot.
