Q: How did you first hear of Rachel Jasmine Studio and what made you want to book with us? 

A: I’ve done boudoir with other photographers in the past, and one photographer was raving about her own session with Rachel. I was so impressed with the feeling of sisterhood I found among these photographers. It wasn’t about competition and a race to be the best or get the most customers or charge the most money; they were so beautifully supportive of each other. Women supporting other women in every way, that’s what I love about boudoir and why I keep coming back for more. Rachel’s work appealed to me on a deeper level, like she photographs not just the surface of the woman but what lies underneath, capturing more emotion…and that felt exciting!!

Q: What was your initial reason for booking? 

A: I’d been a total fangirl of Rachel on Facebook, looking at every photo she posted for months, knowing I wanted to do a shoot with her but waiting for the “right” time. She put out a model call and I thought, “What the hell, maybe now is the right time.” I was so excited to be chosen for a shoot and then pretty much obsessed over outfits and looks for the three months leading up to the shoot…but I’d gained a lot of weight over the previous couple years, was really not liking the direction I was headed, and sick of feeling tired and devoid of zest for life. Booking my shoot was the catalyst I needed to get myself back into shape in a way that felt comfortable and healthy for me.

Q: Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they? 

A: I think my only expectations going into the shoot were really just to try and relax and let Rachel take the lead. Having done boudoir in the past, I knew the general expectations for the shoot, and I’ve learned that I can just surrender my worries and overthinking during the shoot because I’ll be in good hands. That proved true with Rachel and her team. I was taken care of from the moment I got there.

Q: What was it like seeing your images for the first time? 

A: I was absolutely blown away by the lighting of my photos! If there’s one thing Rachel is an expert at, it’s lighting. I usually like color photos better than black-and-white, but I’d say at least half my photos I prefer the black-and-white. To me, that says everything about Rachel’s skill as a photographer. If you want some absolutely stunning black-and-white photos (or amazing color photos, too), Rachel is your gal!!

Q: What products did you purchase, and why do you think other women might love the same pieces? 

A: I got the biggest package because I just knew I wouldn’t be able to narrow down the photos in the end, and I was so glad I did. The mobile app is worth every single penny!! I love having the app on my phone…and so does my husband. It’s the easiest way to be able to look at your pics. I’m excited for my album. I have albums from other shoots and they are always sooo beautiful and a great keepsake item. I didn’t think I would like the wall art, but I’m now really excited to have a gorgeous picture of myself hanging in my walk-in closet.

Q: Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman? 

A: A lot of women, myself included, have bodies that ebb and flow so easily with weight. I had put on a lot of weight, especially the year prior to my shoot, and was feeling pretty down on myself. None of my clothes fit well, I didn’t want to go out and buy bigger clothes, and I didn’t feel like going out half the time because I didn’t like how I looked and felt. I used my shoot as the reason to work with a trainer, change my eating habits, and just be accountable to myself…for myself and no one else. In the two and a half months before my shoot, I lost weight and a collective dozen inches off my waist, butt, and thighs. I was shocked to see the photos and just how much I LOVED what I saw of my body. I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt genuinely good about my body, felt attractive, felt sexy, felt confident, felt comfortable in my own skin. I was ecstatic to have such gorgeous photos from Rachel capturing not just my body but how I feel in my body.

Q: Would you recommend Rachel Jasmine Studio for the luxury boudoir experience to others? 

A: I absofreakinglutely recommend RJS!! Rachel and her team are top-notch, professional, friendly, and so great to work with. The studio is in a beautiful, private setting. Luxury is definitely the feel you get when you step foot in the studio. I drove away from there at the end of the day feeling like a million bucks.

Q: What advice would you give to another woman considering the boudoir experience with Rachel Jasmine Studio? 

A: I promise you, every single fear, worry, doubt, and criticism you have about yourself and your body will melt away once you’re in the studio with Rachel. It can be nerve-racking getting to your shoot date, but once it’s your day, just take a deep breath and let Rachel lead the way. She and her team will take care of every single thing and make you feel so comfortable. You will have the most amazing, beautiful pictures of yourself that will last a lifetime.
