Q: How did you first hear of Rachel Jasmine Studio and what made you want to book with us?

A: I never heard of Boudoir photos until my boyfriend started following some photographers on Instagram. I questioned this but he said he was actually looking to gift me with a shoot. I looked into RJS and when I was on our consultation, Rachel made me feel like she was genuinely interested in in getting to know me and not so much fitting me into a “cliche look”. We decided to book with her as we liked her tasteful style as well.

Q: What was your initial reason for booking?

A: I wanted to book to build my confidence and self esteem, but also to give my boyfriend some fun and flirty gifts for our home. After researching boudoir, I saw there are many styles, but Rachel’s seemed to match my interests and remained tasteful yet sexy.

Q: Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?

A: I was hoping that my photos would make me feel beautiful and gorgeous like models I have seen before. I didn’t know where to shop or what type of apparel to bring. Thankfully Rachel had guides for what and where to buy. We talked through this process and she explained why certain styles would look good or why to steer away from them. This was very helpful to have her insight.

Q: What was it like seeing your images for the first time?

A: During your shoot, she will send you for an hour long lunch break after you are done shooting but before reveal. The whole time I was at lunch, I kept thinking “I feel confident about the shoot, but man I hope the images look as good as I feel”. When I went into my image reveal, she explains the process of selecting the photos in multiple rounds, starting with about 60-75. We were supposed to say yes, no or maybe to each photo. When the first image popped up, I couldn’t say no! It was really tough to say no to any of them as there really wasn’t a bad photo in the bunch! My insecurities quickly diminished as I saw myself on her screen.

Q: What products did you purchase, and why do you think other women might love the same pieces?

A: Before my shoot, we selected the ember collection, which includes 10 mounted photos and an ice block. I chose this because I didn’t want to spend a ton of money, but thought, this way I can still enjoy photos from each set. This allows for various display methods. During my shoot, I also decided to order a 12×18 wall mart piece also. I think these pieces allow us to show off our beauty, but if you are afraid to display them if you have family over, allows you to hide them quickly.

Q: Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?

A: My boudoir experience truly enabled me to see myself the way my boyfriend sees me. I felt beautiful and empowered. Kasey did my makeup and hair, and kicked butt. I felt like I was ready for a magazine. After seeing my photos, I still feel the same way! Being a plus size woman typically is frowned upon in society. My photos I hope will inspire others to take a leap of faith with Rachel and feel beautiful and empowered just like I do!

Q: Would you recommend Rachel Jasmine Studio for the luxury boudoir experience to others?

A: If anyone is on the fence about booking a boudoir session, I would highly recommend none other than Rachel. From preparation leading up to your shoot through the entire day of events, Rachel remains professional and helpful. Within 10 minute of being in the studio, I felt welcome and by the end of the day, I felt like I had known Rachel for years! She listens to your story and tells her own.

Q: What advice would you give to another woman considering the boudoir experience with Rachel Jasmine Studio?

A: The most important thing I can tell anyone considering booking with Rachel is to look at her booking guides and join her VIP Facebook group. This will give you real life insight as to women who have booked with Rachel and allow you to see her work. I would also advise them to not compare themselves and their own body shape to that of any photos they see online. My photos turned out better than I could have ever imagined and look just as good as photos of thin models.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add to your interview?

A: I want to thank Kasey and Rachel for making me see the true beauty that I have within. For coaching me through posing and outfit choice, I owe my newfound confidence to you both! I am normally a size 18 full-figured woman, and now, thanks to my time with RJS, I can see that is also beautiful!!! RJS is the only place I would trust with any boudoir experience.
