Q: How did you first hear of Rachel Jasmine Studio and what made you want to book with us?

A: I first heard about RJS when I went to a bridal show with my friend for her wedding. I’ve been on the email list since then and have been following RJS on social media! I was scared to book at the time but thought it would be a good wedding gift to my hubby for our upcoming wedding. I got an email about the Black Friday Sale and of course I couldn’t pass up on such a good bargain, so I pulled the trigger and scheduled my session.

Q: What was your initial reason for booking?

A: My initial reason for booking was to gift the photos to my fiancé as his wedding gift. However, it turned out to be more so a gift for myself. I was hoping that I’d get a confidence boost, and I got that and more!

Q: Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?

A: I tried not to have expectations going into the shoot. I was for sure nervous but I wanted to trust Rachel to do what she does best and capture my most flattering angles. I’m a plus size woman and I was nervous that I was going to see these pictures and hate every curve or flaw that I see in myself. Also, I was nervous to be so vulnerable in front of a stranger. The entire car ride there I could feel my nerves, I was so anxious. As soon as I walked in the door, I could feel the energy shift. I didn’t feel nervous anymore but the energy I felt from the studio alone, was amazing. I could feel all the confidence and self love that Women before me have felt in that space. It was like magic, my nerves were gone and I couldn’t care less that I was walking around and posing half naked in front of someone I just met. I hadn’t ever even had that kind of confidence walking around, alone, fully naked in my own house. This was a big deal for me! It’s like the positive and confident energy Rachel and her past clients exude in that space was healing me right then and there. Truly a life changing experience.

Q: What was it like seeing your images for the first time?

A: I’m pretty sure my jaw was on the floor the entire image reveal. Like, WHO IS SHE?! oh right that’s me, I’m HOT AF! I couldn’t believe that was me. I thought damn, no wonder my fiancé is obsessed with the booty, now I’m obsessed too! Some of the poses that I thought would be the least flattering because I felt uncomfortable with how I thought I looked in the pose, turned out to be some of my favorite images. It was literal torture to have to narrow my choices down to the amount of images I purchased. It definitely changed how I feel in my body.

Q: What products did you purchase, and why do you think other women might love the same pieces?

A: I purchased the digital package. I chose this because it was the most affordable option for me. I also feel like I’m able to have the flexibility to choose what I want to be printed. I think other queens will love this package for the ability to customize what you want!

Q: Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?

A: Where do I even start. I’ve struggled with my self confidence and body image for as long as I can remember. Growing up I was teased about my weight (even though there was nothing wrong with me) and it caused me to grow up hating my body. I joined weight watchers at 11 years old. Like whaaat. ELEVEN! I barely even hit puberty and I was already trying to alter my body. Body positivity wasn’t really a thing yet. There were no such thing as “cool” high rise mom jeans. I grew up looking at Christina Aguilera, Brittany Spears, and Jennifer Anniston with their tiny tiny bodies and low rise jeans and belly shirts. So, if you had even the slightest amount of skin or chub spilling over those low rise jeans you were labeled as the big girl. Growing up, boys didn’t like the “big girls” they only paid attention to the super skinny popular girls and would “Moo” at me in the hallways. It wasn’t until I met my fiancé that I found out that MEN appreciate a woman’s curves. But by that point I had hated my body for so long that I didn’t believe any compliments he gave me. I didn’t believe my body was worthy of being loved. Looking back now at pictures of myself in high school, when I thought I was fat, are shocking to me. I wasn’t anywhere near fat. I wish I was that kind of “fat” now! I was so mean to myself which perpetuated my poor lifestyle choices and continued struggle with my relationship with food and my body.

After seeing my gallery, my life has 100% changed. I’ve learned to appreciate my curves and know that girl in those pictures are who my fiancé sees when we’re being intimate. Rachel made a good point when she told me that we look at our naked bodies in the bathroom mirror before our shower and analyze every single flaw and roll and curve. But that’s not how we look 24/7. That’s not how we look to the people that love us. Rachel was able to capture my body in a way that I can look at it as a piece of art. I’ve never been so confident in my skin in my entire life. I’m learning to love my body as it is now. My sex life is better because now I’m not so in my head about how my body looks, I feel confident and can actually enjoy myself and my partner. I’m finally able to appreciate my body and can be kinder to myself. I will forever be grateful for this experience.

Q: Would you recommend Rachel Jasmine Studio for the luxury boudoir experience to others?

A: Omg I 1000% would recommend RJS to every woman I know. If you’re struggling with loving yourself DO NOT HESITATE. This experience will change your life in the best ways. My wedding is in October and I don’t know how I’m going to wait to show these to my fiancé because I want to post them all over the internet, I’m so happy with the way they turned out. I will absolutely be back for more. 10/10 would recommend!!!!

Q: What advice would you give to another woman considering the boudoir experience with Rachel Jasmine Studio?

A: Don’t think about it too much. Just do it for yourself. You’re worth it! You’re gorgeous! If you’re nervous about it, get out of your head! Not only does RJS team prepare you thoroughly before your shoot, by sending tips and advice, but they seriously hype you up the day of. If you’re worried about not being “photogenic”, DON’T! Rachel demonstrates the poses and explains everything making it super easy to replicate. AND she works with women of all shapes and sizes so she knows how to pose you to get the most flattering results. Seriously it’s worth every penny. You’re gonna look FIRE girl, just do it!

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add to your interview?

A: I just want to thank Rachel and her team for everything they do. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for this incredible experience. I wish every woman would be able to experience seeing their bodies this way. The inner peace I feel about my body and self image is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I’m so proud of myself for going out of my comfort zone and trusting Rachel to capture my beauty, inside and out.
