This year we released two Limited Edition Halloween sessions in the month of October. Feeling inspired, we shot many dark and Halloween-styled photos for our traditional boudoir clients who opted for it as an Experience Upgrade. But this one was one of the full, real deal Halloween shoots.
Michelle, a 3-time return client, drove 8 hours to come back to the RJS studio for this shoot. With only two dates up for grabs we released them as first-come-first-serve in our private group on Facebook Rachel Jasmine Studio | VIP Insiders.
The company that Michelle purchased her corset for the Witchy Woman photos loved the images we produced so much that they asked to feature them on their social media. What an absolute compliment that was! I can attest to these corsets being stunning AND incredible quality. Check out What Katie Did to see more of their gorgeous garments.
We asked Michelle to write about her experience with RJS. I’ll let her and the images speak for themselves!
HERE’S WHAT MICHELLE HAD TO SAY:
“It’s kind of funny that I am a returning RJS client and have worked with Rachel three times now! I remember thinking I would not like my photos back when I booked in 2018. CRAZY, RIGHT! There was a certain look that I was going for, and when Rachel moved to her new studio (which is AMAZING, might I add), I was a bit disappointed because I had my heart set on her previous studio’s aesthetic.”
“I wasn’t sure I’d want to make an eight hour drive to shoot in a studio similar to some I’ve seen locally to me. Boy, did Rachel prove me wrong! After my first shoot with her, I remember seeing my photos during the reveal and being in love…I looked like a Playboy model! I had tears in my eyes and told her right then that I would DEFINITELY come back to work with her again. I felt like a total fool for doubting my experience before I even came to shoot with her!
Now, though, I 100% trust RJS and her vision and her ability, and today, if Rachel told me to go get in a dumpster to shoot, I would crawl my butt right in it and keep those racoons and other critters company. And I know my shots would not look “trashy” at all!”
“It’s not just Rachel’s ability that keeps me coming back as a client, but her personality as well. Rachel is so cool and fun. She’s very easy to connect with and totally down-to-earth despite her skill level.
Some photographers can be a bit snooty or aloof, but not Rachel. I always have the best time at RJS, and my sessions seem to fly by as we chat, laugh, and capture bomb-ass shot after shot. Rachel provides so much feedback as we go, and I always end up feeling like I am some sort of super-model, even though I’m just a regular woman.
Working with someone who is actually nice and fun to be around is what makes me book with RJS again and again.”
“When Rachel announced that she was doing SUPER-LIMITED HALLOWEEN sessions, I just knew I had to shoot with her AGAIN. She does not run themed-sessions very often, so I knew this was a VERY LIMITED opportunity. Even though I had just shot with her this August, there was no way I was going to miss the Halloween session!”
Rachel completely BLEW MY MIND with her mood board and inspo photos for this shoot! I could tell she put a TON of planning into this! It shows in my photos as well! It was no nice not having to come up with the concept on my own like other photographers I’ve worked with expect.”
“She completely transformed her studio for this “witchy woman” theme, and my Halloween photos look completely different compared to my regular boudoir photos.
That is one of the things I love about Rachel; no matter how many times I shoot with her, my pictures still look AMAZING, but not exactly the same as previous sessions. These Halloween photos still blow my mind every time I look at them!
They do not look cheesy or hodge-podge/thrown together or as if they are missing elements. They look like they belong in a magazine! She really went above and beyond in her execution of this theme, and I feel so lucky that I was able to be one of her “witchy women”!”
We are so excited by the response we’ve gotten from this set!! Between advancing so far in the American Horror Story contest (we are on our way to the Finals!), and the retailers of the garments my client wore sharing the images on their social media… it is the best confirmation that the work we created together is loved by so many others!
